What is Responsible Vendor Training (RVT):
Responsible Vendor means an ME or MTC that the Commission has determined to have completed the initial training requirements and has maintained its training requirement under the Commission’s regulations.
Responsible Vendor Training (RVT) is mandatory. RVT programs are operated by education providers accredited by the Commission to provide an annual minimum of four hours of required training to Agents. All Agents involved in the handling and sale of Marijuana need to successfully complete a RVT Program to be designated a “Responsible Vendor”.
Agent must receive four hours of ongoing training annually. The training must include at least four hours of active in-class or online instruction time by a Commission-certified Responsible Vendor Trainer.” Participants must pass a written test with a score of 70% or better.
Topics of instruction include, but not be limited to:
- An understanding of different products and methods of consumption including Edibles
- Potency
- Effects
- Secondhand absorption time
- Procedures to ensure that consumers are not overserved
- Procedures for mitigating the risk of an impaired consumer and ensuring the safety of patrons and the general public in the event of impairment
RVT MA requires a minimum of four hours training.
